The distance delivery model is a flexible, Internet-based adaptation of the on-campus program. Distance students can log into their class content through the Internet anywhere in the world and learn, follow lectures and submit assignments from their home or workplace.

They are receiving the same quality instruction as on-campus students, take the same exams and participate in direct ophthalmic care at supervised clinical sites according to program regulations for the same period of time.

To be accepted as a training site, all criteria of the Program as listed below must be met. Students interested in distance studies should contact the Program prior to applying. The Clinical Vision Science Program is only offered in English and is subject to sufficient enrollment. Admission requirements are in accordance with the general requirements for admission to the Faculty of Graduate Studies of Dalhousie University and are the same as for in-campus students.

These patients require accurate pre-operative assessment, optimisation, precise management both intra-operatively and post-operatively. Entrants to this programme will already have some experience in managing this group of patients and a relevant qualification at Bachelor level. The aim of the programme is to equip graduates with state-of-the-art knowledge in anaesthesia. Graduates will also develop academic and quality improvement skills that will enable them to introduce up to date, evidence-based interventions and lead clinical improvement within the operating theatre and anaesthesia environment.

The programme will be worth credits overall taught online over 3 years. It will begin with 12 core courses worth 10 credits each pertaining to key clinical and non-clinical concepts in anaesthesia in the first two years: In the third year, the student will write a dissertation on an area of clinical anaesthesia.

The 12 courses will be delivered over 2 years in an online virtual learning environment which includes: recorded lectures, online tutorials, webinars, interactive quizzes, online cases and discussion boards. In Year 3, students will write a dissertation to demonstrate their ability to synthesise and critically evaluate the evidence base in relation to a topic in anaesthesia.

Exiting the programme after completion of one year will lead to the award of a PgCert in Clinical Anaesthesia. Exiting the programme prior to the dissertation year will result in award of a PgDip in Clinical Anaesthesia. This MSc provides a theatre and anaesthesia practitioner with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and set up new clinical services. The clinical components of the degree as well as the leadership skills acquired and attained during this programme make graduates very desirable candidates for promotion and to prospective employers. The aim is for graduates to be highly effective clinical leaders in their field and place of work.

The scholarship will support those students in need of financial support at any stage of their degree programme. For international students, the Home Office has confirmed that the University can choose to use these tests to make its own assessment of English language ability for visa applications to degree level programmes.

We therefore still accept any of the English tests listed for admission to this programme. The University of Glasgow accepts evidence of the required language level from the English for Academic Study Unit Pre-sessional courses.
